She has experience working in diverse community settings such as the University of Waterloo Counselling Services, Waterloo Sexual Assault Support Centre, and Canadian Addiction Treatment Centre. She combines evidence-based practice and an eclectic approach in therapy to ensure her clients are well supported to meet their therapeutic objectives. Her training in various therapeutic modalities allows her to create a tailored treatment plan which can be structured or flexible depending on the client’s needs. She aims to provide clients with a non-judgmental and explorative space by practicing from a biopsychosocial model and trauma-informed lens to facilitate a client’s overall well-being. In sessions with Christie, clients can expect a warm, compassionate, collaborative space where client can feel safe to explore past experiences and present difficulties, have a greater understanding of themselves and others, learn new skills, and develop new coping strategies to make positive changes in their lives.
