Dr. Navodhi Hewage

Dr. Navodhi Hewage completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University with honor ward, Magna Cum Laude and has over 15+ years of experience in developmental and mental health and currently working as a Dual Diagnosis Clinician for 11 years, in Kinark Child and Family Services. Currently, Dr. Hewage is working towards completing field placement hours under Dr. Antczak’s supervision and seeking eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists in Ontario. Dr. Hewage’s training and experience in clinical psychology include providing enhanced service navigation for families with complex needs, assisting in conducting multidisciplinary assessments, and parent coaching. In addition, Dr. Hewage conducts behavioural assessments, designs positive behaviour support plans, and provides staff coaching and treatment recommendations for youth involved in Youth Justice at Syl Apps Secure Treatment Program.

She specializes in working across the lifespan with a particular focus on children, young adults, transition-aged youth, and their parents. Dr. Hewage provides consultations for a range of developmental concerns such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities and mental health concerns related to mood disorders, anxiety-related disorders, and emotional regulation challenges. Dr. Hewage believes in tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each individual and employing an integrative approach from multiple treatment modalities such as play therapy, applied behaviour analysis, cognitive behaviour therapy, and didactical behaviour therapy. She has a strong passion for helping families and young people, improve their overall mental well-being and quality of life. Dr. Hewage is also a mother of three teenagers with experiences navigating the mental health systems and child advocacy as a parent. Dr. Navodhi provides in-person services on weekends and she speaks English and Sinhalese!
